This place is something of a gem, especially at night for an evening meal. Interesting and tasty menu. Good size portions. And atmosphere, up above the high street with a surprise of a cocktail bar close by the eating area. Really nice and we'll go again.
We had a cosy dinner by the stove, with view onto the Tweed. The confit duck leg, broad beans, peas and fennel were simply delicious. We ordered New Port Sour cocktails for the aperitif and they were so good and well balanced we both had another for dessert. My husband also had a yummy chocolate cremeux served with berries and coconut ice-cream, and finished with a perfect Italian espresso. Called in for breakfast whilst staying at Glentress for a few days mountain biking. Food was excellent. A smallish menu, food was fresh & delicious, nicely presented & cooked to perfection. Service was quick and friendly. Toilet was very clean. We will be back!
A nice cafe with snacks and delicious cakes. It seems we didn’t have the best communication when ordering, but the waiter immediately helped us out and was very friendly. This allowed us to enjoy our coffee and the great cake under the pergola in beautiful weather. The bathrooms are clean and they provide little fabric towels instead of paper towels (great!). If you’re in this charming little town, we highly recommend the Hidden Garden.
Stopped in here initially for just a quick drink (visiting Peebles from Edinburgh) then saw the menu and decided to stay for food! What a gorgeous place. The cod and chorizo stew was delicious, fresh fish and quality ingredients evident. My partner loved the burger and loaded fries too. We ended up taking away some of the deli goods, and returned for breakfast before heading home the following day. Lovely friendly staff, comfortable seating area with the ambience of a stove and views across the river (depending where seated!) Would highly recommend and will visit again when in Peebles
I would say this is the best restaraunt I visited on my trip to Scotland. The food was garden fresh and the service was impeccable and warm. I had the soup and sandwich as well as the bergamot tea cake. Everything was perfection would return!
Stunning little place, serving absolutely gorgeous food and drinks. The BEST cappuccinos I've ever had, and that's saying something! The staff were all very attentive and friendly with a smile as soon as you walk in. We felt very welcome, which started our day off perfectly. Thank you!
